Usher?s Almost Bride Stirs The Pot
Tameka Foster finally broke her silence with the media regarding her canceled wedding plans to R&B superstar Usher. The wedding was suppose to take place last Saturday, but just hours before the ceremony the 100 wedding guests were informed that it had been called off.
And after carefully reviewing her recent statement to the press, it seems apparent that Tameka never truly explained what happened and appeared to intentionally leave us guessing about future wedding plans.
At the time of the wedding cancellation, the guests were left in the dark about why the sudden change. The only public comment was made by a publicist for the R&B singer, Patti Webster, who stated, “It was announced today that the wedding ceremony for Usher Raymond IV and Tameka Foster was canceled. No additional information will be given regarding the circumstances of the cancellation, but we hope the privacy of this matter will be respected.”
Inside sources are now saying that the real reason for the delayed wedding was tension within the Usher family, including disagreements about wedding details between the bride and groom-to-be. Jonetta Patton, Usher’s mother and former manager, apparently doesn’t approve of the marriage between her son and Tameka, and chose to express her feelings clearly.
Also, taking the opportunity to quash rumors that had been circling about recently checking into a hospital for a pre-term labor, Tameka denied the gossip while explaining, “We had a scare. But, I am fine and the baby is fine.”
Petra Nemcova Goes Vegan For The Fish
Supermodel tsunami survivor Petra Nemcova has spent each day since the December 2004 tragedy trying to make the world a better place. She even launched the Happy Hearts Fund, which aims at “helping children who’ve suffered loss or hardship as a result of natural, economic or health-related disasters.”
With her charitable efforts not being enough, Nemcova has now become a vegan after learning about the planet’s rapidly depleting fish stocks. The Czech Republic born model gave up meat and dairy in February because “she wants to set an example and help save ocean life.”
Recently spotted helping out at an OCRF Benefit, Petra said: “I became quite green - I have a very strong connection to nature. I read that if we fish the way we fish, in 2048 there will be no more fish left, which is pretty soon. So it’s a statement.”
While we aren’t sure where Petra’s facts are coming from, we do applaud her efforts.

Cindy Crawford Has A Good ?Envelope?
At 41 years of age, Cindy Crawford still has a figure that makes heads turn. This is especially true when the supermodel turned mother/producer hits the beaches of St Tropez for her annual getaway with husband Rande Gerber.
Crawford, who owns the production company Crawdaddy Inc, was spotted enjoying a day of yachting near the popular Riviera destination. While out in the open sea, the mother-of-two went on a wave-running adventure, sipped on drinks and sunned her body while lounging back on a beach recliner.
Speaking of bodies, the former face of Pepsi has spoken of how blessed she has been in the looks department, but also points out that appearance is only a small part of the equation - “the envelope”.
Crawford wrote on her Website, “Appearance isn’t the summation of who I am, or who anyone is. I’ve been very lucky. I’ve got a good envelope. You know? An envelope - the packaging is good. I wouldn’t have been able to do what I’ve done without it.”
We concur - the envelope is definitely “good”!
Britney Spears To Host SNL?
Free from ex Kevin Federline after yesterday’s divorce finalization, the trainwreck that’s Britney Spears is said to be focusing her attention solely on career related matters. Not only does she plan on getting back to the top of the charts, Ms Spears is also rumored to be in talks to host Saturday Night Live in the months to come.
This news comes despite the fact that other troubled stars have seen fallout due to their scandalous actions. Recent examples include Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie’s tv show, “The Simple Life,” getting canceled, along with Mike Vick’s endorsement fallout over his dog fighting charges. And while Britney may not be on that level, most would be uninterested in having their name tied to a lose cannon.
Nonetheless, according to X17 Online: “There’s word circulating that Britney’s in talks to host Saturday Night Live in the fall! But don’t go thinking that Britney’s got plans to ignore her musical career in favor of one in comedy - our source further confirms that Brit’s taking every step to make sure her new music comes out on schedule!”
Whether or not Brit has aspirations of pulling double duty as both host and musical guest is still to be seen. Either way, we’ve got $20 riding on an on-air breakdown.

Looks like Ram Gopal Varma has found an understanding with the Bachchans as he is doing multiple projects with the family. The director is planning to launch a new movie tentatively titled Time Machine which will star the entire family barring Jaya. According to a source close to the director, "Ramu has planned to rope in Amitabh, Abhishek and Aishwarya for Time Machine. The director took the decision of reviving the film during the outdoor shoot of his film Sarkar Raj which is currently in progress in Hyderabad."

Osian Film Festival is in full swing in the Capital and Bow Barracks Forever was one of the movies shown there. Directed by ANnun Dutt, the movie has been released on to the multplses and here are some excerpts from the review done by Hindu.A slanging match among an ensemble cast of seasoned actors, this film is a pathetic spectacle, and does enough to shake your faith in the medium for a while.For the record, though, it talks of a microscopic minority of Anglo-Indians, the guys who profess Christianity, speak English, live in the barracks of Kolkata and are as much Indian as anybody else. They are faced with threats of eviction as the forces of development threaten to usurp tradition. There are a handful of families, ranging from middle to lower middle class, earning their livelihood selling pastries, wines, antiques and the like. Each family has a problem of space. Each family has a dream to grow yet is unable to let go of the place. Interesting? Yes, as an idea Dutt’s film scores full marks. It is in the implementation that it falls flat.A film with melancholy as an enduring feeling needed a gentler handling. Muted tones are there all right; what is missing is a soul. No story involves the viewer: almost every sub-plot is a reiteration of age-old stereotypes about the community. And where a word was called for, the director packs in a dozen. Where a whisper would have sufficed, he gives us a scream.Really, though almost all the cast members scream their lungs out, Lilette Dubey as a woman who wants to shift to London is easily the worst culprit. She shouts and slaps her younger son. She out-shouts the neighbourhood woman, Neha Dubey, accused of using her son. She out-shouts Peter the Cheater: Victor Banerji in a role he did in a moment of amnesia. All this flaring tempers and sharp tongue business is an insult to the community it claims to give a voice to. Everybody here speaks at the top of his voice, leaving you longing for some moments of silence, some stillness, when the gravity of the challenge ahead of them can strike you. Sobriety was the need of the hour. It is not there even for a moment.Since the film is in English, and talks of Anglo-Indians, Dutt tends to take that as a licence to talk of wine, to use frequent four-letter words — many of which are, thankfully, blipped — and even show nudity when completely uncalled for. If intimate sequences involving Moon Moon Sen are crude, the ones involving Clayton Rogers are absolutely forced.A little suggestive gesture would have better conveyed the passion than slipped undergarments.Really, but this story of a woman who wants to go to London to escape the sadness of life in Kolkata, another who is a victim of marital violence, yet another who runs away from her man to find fulfilment elsewhere, is just so much of sameness. No pace in story-telling, no punch in dialogue, and, despite Usha Uthup’s appearance, a forgettable music score.
